IBL Championship Series: Beamriders vs. Deadly Dogs
Game 2: Another tough game for six innings, then the Deadly Dogs bats come alive in the 7th to score three runs and win 3-0!
First two-game sweep in league championship history!
Game 1: A tough defensive game with lots of big hits.
The Deadly Dogs scored on a Beamriders error in the 7th inning and win 1-0.
6/23: The Snakes beat the River Raiders today 1-0.
6/22: The Smash beat the Deadly Dogs today 2-1.
6/21: The Armada beat the Mutants today 1-0.
6/20: The Ghosts beat the Bombers today 1-0 in 19 innings!
6/19: Spartans crush a three run home run in the 5th on their way to upset the Beamriders 4-1!
6/15: Armada shoot down the Spartans 3-0.
6/14: Snakes bite hard on the Ghosts as they win 4-0.
6/13: The Bombers crush a three-run home run in the bottom of the 7th to burn the Deadly Dogs 3-1.
That ends the Dogs win streak at a record seven games.
6/12: The Beamriders crush a two run home run in the first inning and beat the Smash 2-1.
They clinch their fourth Action Network championship and will face the Deadly Dogs in the league championship series.
6/8: The Ghosts bats come alive in the 5th inning to score two runs. They hold off the Mutants and win 2-0.
6/7: Tough game today. The River Raiders scored a run in the 3rd inning on a Spartans error.
But the Raiders closer couldn't hold the Spartans back as they scored a run in the top of the 9th.
Both teams fought hard until the 11th when the Raiders got a walk-off grand slam to win it 5-1!
The Deadly Dogs have clinched the Battle Network title! That's four different Battle Network champions in four years!
6/6: The Snakes crush a three run home run in the 2nd inning and hold off the Smash the rest of the way winning 3-0.
6/5: Great game today. The Armada sliced the first pitch of the second inning for a home run down the right field line.
The Deadly Dogs battle back to tie it in the 3rd inning.
The Armada scored another run in the 5th to lead 2-1.
The Dogs hit four straight singles in the 7th to tie the game at 2.
Both teams fought hard until the Dogs got a walk off single in the 9th to win 3-2.
The Deadly Dogs can win the Battle Network and clinch a spot in the championship series with a win next week.
6/2: Bombers get their first win defeating the River Raiders 1-0 in 10 innings!
6/1: The Ghosts scored a run in the 3rd inning.
The Beamriders fought back with a run in the 5th inning.
Both teams fought hard tied 1-1 until the bottom of the 10th when the Beamriders got some big hits and got a walk-off single to win 2-1.
5/31: Tough defensive game for 8 innings until the Deadly Dogs get four straight singles for a 1-0 walk off win against the Spartans.
5/30: The Snakes offense explodes for two home runs today as they stun the Mutants 4-1.
5/25: Another tough defensive game, another 1-0 win. The Mutants got some big hits in the 8th and scored their winning run, giving the Beamriders another shutout loss.
5/24: Another tough defensive game today!
The Spartans scored a run in the 8th inning on a Bombers error and hold on to win 1-0.
Both teams got a triple play in the game.
5/23: Tough game for seven innings until the Smash get a string of hits and score a run in the 8th to beat the Ghosts 1-0.
5/22: The River Raiders and Armada put on great defensive and pitching performances. No score for 18 innings!!!
The Armada win 1-0 on a walk off single in the bottom of the 19th inning. This sets a new league record for the longest game played.
5/18: The Deadly Dogs got some good hits in the 6th inning and scored a run, while shooting down the River Raiders 1-0.
5/17: A big offensive game but with little to show for it.
The Beamriders started the bottom of the 1st inning with three straight singles, only to be shut down with a triple play!
Both teams got big hits throughout the game but were shut down by the other team's defense.
It was scoreless until the top of the 9th when the Snakes got some big hits and a walk to take a 1-0 lead.
The Snakes shut down the champs in the bottom of the 9th to win 1-0. A stunning upset!
5/16: Tough defensive game for six innings until the Armada broke through the Bombers defense for three runs in the 7th inning.
They hold on to win 3-0.
5/15: Big game for the Mutants as they shutout the Smash 4-0.
Mutants got a three-run home run in the 3rd inning and got some more big hits to add a run in the 8th.
5/12: Deadly Dogs continue to stay hot at the plate as they crush a three-run home run in the 3rd. Snakes stay winless as they lose 3-0.
5/11: The Smash crush some hits in the 3rd inning to score a run while shutting out the River Raiders to win 1-0.
5/10: Double header today:
Game 1: The Armada got a run in the 4th and the Beamriders tied it in the 6th.
Both teams fought hard into extra innings.
The Beamriders blasted some hits in the 11th inning to win 2-1.
Game 2: The Mutants and Bombers had a tight game for seven innings until the Mutants scored a run in the 8th and held on to win 1-0.
5/9: Big game for the Spartans as they shoot down the Ghosts 4-0.
The Spartans blasted a three-run home run in the 2nd and got more big hits for a run in the 7th.
The Ghosts had multiple chances to score, but the Spartans defense was great.
5/4: The Spartans give the River Raiders their first loss thanks to a three-run home run in the 4th inning. They hold on to win 3-1.
5/3: The Beamriders and Mutants both scored a run in the first inning and held each other back until the Beamriders got some singles to break the 1-1 tie in the 8th inning.
The Mutants tried to tie it in the 9th but the Beamriders held on to win 2-1 and stay undefeated.
5/2: A tight defensive game for six innings until the Armada got runs in the 7th and 8th innings to beat the Bombers 2-0.
5/1: Good game today. The Smash blasted the ball in the 3rd inning to score two runs.
The Ghosts scored a run in the 5th inning on a Smash error.
The Smash got some more big hits the top of the 8th for another run, then the Ghosts battled back for a run in the bottom of the 8th.
The Ghosts got bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th but the Smash got a game ending double play and hold on to win 3-2.
4/27: A great defensive game for both the Mutants and the Smash until the bottom of the 9th when the Smash hit four straight infield singles and got a 1-0 walk off win.
4/26: Tough fight today, the River Raiders got on the board in the first inning with a run.
The Armada fired back with a tying run in the 2nd inning.
The game stayed tied until the 5th inning when the Raiders got some more big hits and led 2-1.
The Armada had chances to tie it again, but the Raiders defense shot them down and held on to win.
4/25: The Snakes got some big hits to score a run in the 3rd, but blew the lead on errors in the 5th and let the Beamriders tie the game.
Both teams played hard until the 9th inning when, once again, Snakes pitching couldn't hold their opponents back and lose 2-1.
4/24: The Deadly Dogs blow up the Spartans 7-0 today to give them a three game win streak.
4/20: Huge historic game today! The River Raiders and Bombers combined for seven runs in the first two innings.
It remained 4-3 Raiders into the 5th when the Raiders unloaded for a whopping five runs including a 3-run home run.
The Bombers kept fighting back but end up getting bombed 9-4.
This sets a new league record for most runs in a game.
4/19: A tough game today. The Beamriders got runs in the 6th and 7th innings and was holding on
until they made fielding errors in the 8th to give the Ghosts a run.
The Beamriders still hold on to win 2-1.
4/18: The Deadly Dogs young powerful offense blow up the Armada 4-1!
4/17: A mostly tight quick game, the Mutants scored a run in the 3rd on a Snakes error.
The Mutants closer then gave up a run in the 9th to tie it.
The game went tied into the 11th when the Mutants got two hits, a walk and a GRAND SLAM to win it 5-1!
4/13: A tight game for eight innings turns disastrous for the Snakes.
It was scoreless into the 9th, when the Snakes closer gave up a lead off walk, a big outfield hit, and a three run home run.
He still struggled with his control as the Ghosts got more hits and scored two more runs.
The Snakes tried to rally in the bottom of the 9th but only scored one run in the 5-1 loss.
4/12: The Armada had an amazing game today, scoring a run in the first, three in the 3rd, and one in the 6th to blow up the sloppy Spartans 5-0.
To add to their big day, the Armada pulled off a great triple play in the 4th inning.
4/11: Today's game started off with tough defense until the Beamriders took advantage of bad errors by the Smash to win 2-0.
4/10: The Bombers took advantage of slow Deadly Dogs defense to jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
The Dogs got some hits in the 4th to get a run, then took a 3-2 lead in the 5th on a combination of big hits and small ball.
The Dogs defense shot down the Bombers from there to hold on to win.
4/6: Another tough game today. The Deadly Dogs got some hits for a run in the 3rd inning.
They held on to that lead until the River Raiders crushed the first pitch of the 8th inning for a home run to left center.
The game remained tied 1-1 to the 10th inning when the River Raiders layed down a bunt to win 2-1.
4/5: Tough game today, the only run came in the 7th when the Ghosts got some big hits and scored on an error by the Mutants shortstop.
Except for a few errors by both teams, pitching and defense were generally solid. Only one runner safely reached 3rd base all game.
4/4: A mostly quiet game turned explosive at the end! The Bombers got a run in the 3rd and held it until the Spartans broke through and tied it in the 8th.
It stayed tied until the 11th when the Spartans crushed a two run home run to take a 3-1 lead.
The Bombers battled back in the bottom of the 11th and scored a run, but their attack was shot down by the Spartans as they win 3-2.
4/3: What an opening day! The Snakes got some big hits while getting lucky on Smash errors to get a run in the first inning.
The Smash crushed some hits to tie it 1-1 in the 3rd inning, then took a 2-1 lead in the 5th.
The Snakes bit back in the 8th to tie it 2-2 on another Smash error.
The Smash got a break on a bad fielder's choice by the Snakes' catcher to take a 3-2 lead in the 8th and hold on to win.
The Intellivision Baseball League returns April 3! Here are details on this season:
The season will consist of 12 weeks, including two inter-network weeks.
The Spartans will host regular season inter-network games for the first time.
The first inter-network game will be a rematch of last year's championship series: Armada at Beamriders
Opposing teams will both wear color uniforms for select games.
Each team will have two bye weeks during the season.
The championship series will take place on June 26.
