The Smash beat the Armada 20-13 in double overtime to win INTV Bowl III!!!
It was a tough defensive fight as expected. The Smash took a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. There were 10 combined interceptions in that quarter alone.
Armada got their first score with 5 minutes left in the first half. The Smash stopped them at the one yard line, and the coach makes the controversial decision to kick a field goal.
Armada got a big drive going at the end of the first half, but the Smash stopped it with an interception. There were 17 total interceptions in just the first half.
Both teams fought each other in the 3rd quarter without scoring, then the Smash get the game's first touchdown early in the 4th quarter.
Armada answers back with their own touchdown to make the game 13-10 Smash.
Both teams continued to battle, until the Armada get a big interception and kick a game-tying field goal with 6 seconds left in the game, forcing the game into the first overtime in league history.
The teams went back and forth with no score for 15 minutes, forcing a second overtime.
The Smash scored the game winning touchdown with 10:18 left in the second overtime to become league champions.
12/2: The Ghosts win a hard fight against the Armada 31-22!
The Armada jumped out to a 19-12 lead at the half, then the Ghosts tied it at 22 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
The Ghosts defense stepped up with big interceptions in the 4th quarter and scored 9 points while shutting out the Armada.
The Ghosts fought hard to make it into INTV Bowl III, but they fell short and the Smash are Action Network Champions!
12/1: The Mutants beat the Spartans today 19-6. The Mutants took a three point lead at the half, then shut out the Spartans for the rest of the game.
11/30: The Destroyers shoot down the Beamriders 17-6.
11/29: The Sharks get their revenge over INTV Bowl II beating the Bombers 10-9!
11/28: Smash burn the Deadly Dogs 20-19 with a last minute touchdown!
It was a tough game, the Smash tied the game in the 2nd quarter, then took the lead at the half.
The Dogs then scored 13 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to take a 19-13 lead.
Both teams held each other off in the 4th quarter until the Smash finally broke through for a touchdown with one minute left in the game.
11/23: The Armada burn the Deadly Dogs 19-3 to clinch their spot in INTV Bowl III!
11/22: The Ghosts destroy the Beamriders 26-7!
The Beamriders could not contain the high-speed Ghosts offense who scored 16 points in the second half,
while the Ghosts strong defense grounded the Beamriders air attack.
This makes a four-way tie in the Action Network with all teams at 5-4!!! One game left for each team next week to decide the network championship!
11/21: The Spartans destroy the Bombers 30-13!
The Bombers defense breaks down again as they give up 17 points in the first half alone,
and their offensive struggles continue, scoring only one touchdown in their past two games.
11/17: The Deadly Dogs upset the Bombers 19-9!
After a scoreless first quarter, the Deadly Dogs defense got some big interceptions which led to 16 points in the second quarter.
The Bombers offense came alive at the end of the third quarter, but it was short lived, as the Dogs D kept the Bombers out of the end zone.
11/16: The Smash beat the Sharks 23-13!
It was a tough battle throughout the game, the Sharks kept trying to rally but the Smash defense got some big interceptions and shut them down.
11/15: The Armada sink the Destroyers 37-9.
11/14: The Mutants beat the Smash 23-16!
The Mutants were up 14-3 at the half.
Both teams battled until the Smash cut the lead to 17-16 with a touchdown to start the 4th quarter.
The Mutants defense stepped up near the end of the game and held off the Smash to win.
11/11: The Beamriders gut the Sharks 25-17.
After a slow first quarter, the Beamriders defense stepped up with lots of interceptions, and controlled the ball most of rest of game.
11/10: The Ghosts had to fight to save their season today, and they exploded the Mutants 37-16!
The first 28 points of the Ghosts were scored in the first half, as they dominated most of the game and end their four game losing streak.
11/9: The Armada blow up the Spartans 19-9!
It was a tight game until around the end of the 3rd quarter when the Armada scored 10 points while shutting out the Spartans for most of the 2nd half.
Both teams combined for 24 interceptions.
11/8: Smash shoot down the Beamriders 28-26!
The Beamriders led 9-0 at the start of the 2nd quarter, then the Smash tied it at 9 near the end of the half.
The Beamriders got two big interceptions and scored 10 points in the last 3 minutes of the half.
Both teams continued to fight hard. Near the end of the 3rd quarter, the Smash went on an incredible run of three field goals and four interceptions, starting off the 4th quarter with a touchdown to take the lead 25-19. The ball was in Beamriders territory for about 8 minutes.
The Beamriders finally got the ball out of their territory around the middle of the 4th quarter and scored a touchdown with 7 mins left in the game. The Beamriders kept trying to rally, but the Smash held on for the win.
11/7: The Destroyers burn the Deadly Dogs 25-17.
The Dogs jumped out to an early lead only to see it vanish by the end of the first half.
The Destroyers defense played great in the second half, getting several interceptions while only allowing a touchdown.
11/3: The Bombers blow up the Armada 29-3 to take over first place!
11/2: Mutants win a tough one against the Sharks 16-15.
The only touchdown was by the Mutants halfway through the 3rd quarter.
11/1: Destroyers win a dogfight 20-19.
After a slow first quarter, it was 13-10 Spartans at the half.
Both teams got a field goal in the 3rd, then the Destroyers got a touchdown while holding off a late Spartans rally in the 4th.
10/31: The Smash scare away the Ghosts 23-10.
It was a tough game until the Smash scored 10 points in the 4th quarter to pull away with the win.
10/28: The Bombers win their third game in a row sinking the Destroyers 29-22.
The Destroyers were able to limit the Bombers to only field goals in the first half, then the Bombers took a 26-3 lead half way through the third quarter.
The Destroyers then scored 19 straight points to cut the Bombers lead to four, but their rally fell short.
10/27: Sharks get their first win by beating the Ghosts 22-20!!!
The Ghosts lead 10-6 at the half, but the Sharks defense took over in the third quarter and they scored 13 points within two minutes.
Both teams kept fighting in the fourth quarter, but the Sharks defense made some good plays at the end to stop the Ghosts from taking the lead.
10/26: The Spartans burn the Deadly Dogs today 23-3.
10/25: The Mutants shoot down the Beamriders 23-13!
It was a tough defensive fight for most of the game, but the Mutants defense made some big plays to help score 10 points while shutting out the Beamriders in the 4th quarter.
10/21: The Destroyers win a tough defensive game against the Ghosts 12-9 on a last second field goal.
10/20: The Bombers win a tough one against the Mutants 18-7.
All of the Bombers scoring was on field goals, including only two in the second half.
10/19: The Beamriders shoot down the Spartans 29-15.
The Beamriders offense soared over the Spartans defenders, while their defense got some big interceptions and held the Spartans to only field goals.
10/18: The Deadly Dogs beat the Sharks 16-6 today.
The Sharks defense was decent but they continue to struggle offensively and remain winless.
10/17: The Armada blow up the Smash 36-13!
The Smash jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, then the Smash defense started crumbling at the end of the first half allowing the Armada to keep scoring.
The Armada defense stepped up with big plays in the second half to shut down the Smash offense.
10/13: The Spartans get a 23-16 comeback win over the Deadly Dogs!
After being down 16-3 at the half, they blasted off for 20 straight points while shutting out the Deadly Dogs in the 2nd half.
10/12: The Smash blow up the Sharks 26-20!
The Sharks couldn't contain the Smash passing game, while the Smash's crushing defense made some big plays to secure their win.
10/11: The Bombers beat the Armada 22-20.
It was a tough fight, the Armada controlled the first half, then in the 3rd quarter the Bombers exploded with 13 points in two minutes and take the lead.
Both teams went back and forth in the 4th quarter, but the Bombers held on to win.
10/10: Beamriders win a tough one against the Ghosts 36-30!
The Beamriders dominated the first half with 23 points, then the Ghosts took over and scored 24 points in the 3rd quarter while slowing down the Beamriders offense.
But the Beamriders would not be denied, scoring 13 points in the 4th quarter for the win.
10/6: Ghosts win a tough one against the Sharks 15-14.
While the Sharks couldn't slow down the Ghosts passing game, they did hold them to only field goals.
The Sharks missed two field goals and were shut out in the second half.
10/5: The Spartans shut out the Bombers 15-0!
It was a tough defensive game, the Bombers holding the Spartans to only field goals, while the Spartans shut down the Bombers offense.
That's only the 4th shutout in league history.
10/4: The Mutants get a comeback victory against the Smash 23-16!
The Smash jumped out 16-0 early in the 2nd quarter, then the Mutants defense shut down the Smash while their offense scored 23 points.
10/3: The Armada sank the Destroyers today 29-19.
It was a tough first half with both teams holding each other to only field goals.
Armada's defense stepped up with two big interceptions in the third quarter and scored two touchdowns to put the game out of reach.
9/29: The Destroyers blew up the Spartans today 29-17.
After a slow start, the Destroyers took a 13-0 lead at the end of the first half.
The Spartans blasted off in the 3rd quarter to score 17 points and take the lead, but were then shut out in the 4th quarter.
9/28: The Sharks get gutted again, this time by the Mutants 47-28.
The Mutants scored 37 points and got 12 interceptions in the first half alone.
9/27: Another tough game between the Bombers and Deadly Dogs today.
The Bombers took a 10-3 lead halfway through the second quarter, then the Deadly Dogs defense got some big turnovers and scored three field goals in a row.
The Bombers scored 13 points in the second half to pull away with the 23-12 win.
9/26: Tough game between the Beamriders and Smash today, but the Smash win 20-13, giving the Beamriders their first loss.
There was no score for the first quarter, then the Beamriders went up 13-0.
The Smash answered back with 20 points and held on to win.
9/22: The Ghosts blow up the Mutants today 26-6.
It was a tight game for three quarters until the Ghosts scored 17 points off interceptions in the 4th quarter.
9/21: The Armada blow up the Dogs 26-19. The Armada dominated the middle of the game until a Dogs' rally fell short at the end.
9/20: The Beamriders continue to dominate as they gut the Sharks today 29-10.
9/19: The Destroyers shoot down the Bombers today 21-12.
The Destroyers dominated the 1st half with 21 points and 7 interceptions while shutting out the Bombers.
The Bombers put up a good fight in the second half but fell short.
9/15: The Armada blow up the Spartans 36-19.
After being down 12-3 halfway through the 2nd quarter, the Armada stepped up with 33 unanswered points, while their defense shut down the Spartans for most of the game.
9/14: Big offensive game for the Beamriders as they explode on the Mutants 39-20.
They jumped out to a 27 point lead before the Mutants woke up and cut the lead down to 27-13 at the half.
The Beamriders were limited to field goals in the second half, while the Mutants only scored one touchdown.
9/13: The Deadly Dogs burn the Destroyers 25-3, mainly on field goals.
9/12: Tough defensive game between the Ghosts and the Smash, the only touchdown coming from the Smash half way through the 3rd quarter.
The Ghosts stun the Smash with an interception and field goal in the final seconds to win 12-10!!!
The Intellivision Football League kicks off September 12! Here are details on this season:
Expansion teams: Ghosts and Deadly Dogs
Games will be played at double speed for high speed football action!
Games will average around 40 minutes in length.
Each game will be on YouTube soon after it is played, and will have sound for the first time in history!

The season will consist of 12 weeks starting September 12.
The season will have two inter-network weeks, including a rematch of INTV Bowl II (Sharks vs. Bombers).
A few select inter-network games will feature both teams wearing color uniforms.
Each team will have two bye weeks during the season.
INTV Bowl III (league championship) will take place on December 5, location TBA.
New team colors:
The Smash will play on new blue turf
The Mutants are now yellow-green and magenta
The Armada are now orange and purple
